Ololaimutiek Village:

A rural community area and Maasai village in Narok county of Kenya. It is situated on the eastern & southeastern boundary of the Maasai Mara National Reserve, directly next to the Ololaimutia Gate. It takes around 6 hours beautiful road trip from Nairobi.

Ololaimutiek Village is also called Oloolaimutia & Oloolaimutia Village.

The Maasai

A semi-nomadic pastorailist group, who speak Maa language. They wear bright red garments, called shúkà, with intricate & colorful beadwork and vibrant red wraps.

Around 17th century, the Maasai migrated southwards from the Nile valley, via South Sudan, and settled in the parts of southern Kenya & northern Tanzania.

The Pastoralists

They are the group of people, who measure wealth by the number of cattle and children they have. Other pastoralists are:

  • The Turkana (native to Turkana county of northwest Kenya)
  • The Samburu (native to north-central Kenya)
