Notes: It was a Dutch fort. In 1780, GENERAL REGINALD WATSON used to live in this fort with his family.

The place was previously known as Hajipur because it was situated on the banks of Hajipur creek, which is a tributary of Hooghly River in West Bengal. It was named as Diamond Harbour by the British, who used it for river & sea shipping.

Notes: The area is badly affected by different natural desasters (cyclones), like Yaas, Amphan & Fani

News Update:

There is nothing to see in Mousumi Island, since it is very badly affected by the cyclones.
There is no sign of crocodiles and deers in Crocodile & Deer Park. They are sent out for the safety of the animals, before the cyclones.
