Phey

A small rural village, situated around 15 km southwest from Leh main town, around 10,452 ft above sea level. It is located along the banks of the Indus River.

Aryan Village & Valley

Historically known as Dah Hanu region, comprising of 4 villages:

  1. Dah (a town in Sham district, Ladakh)
  2. Hanu or Hanoo (a village panchayat in Sham district, Ladakh)
  3. Garkon (a village in Sham district, Ladakh)
  4. Darchik (a village in Sham district, Ladakh)

It is inhabited by Brokpa ethnolinguistic people of Dardic origin. In around 2010, the name was changed to Aryan Valley.

Sham

Sham district (with headquarter at Khaltse) is a district in Ladakh, India. In native dialect, Sham means West. And, it is called Sham because it is situated in western Ladakh. It was eshtablished in 27th April, 2026.

Brokpa

Sometimes called Minaro. They are Indo-Aryan ethnolinguistic people, who are found mostly in Dah and Hanu. Some of them are also found in Pakistan-administered Baltistan, in the villages around Ganokh. They speak Indo-Aryan language called Brokskat and are mostly Vajrayana Buddhist, though some are Muslim.
