In 1862, Burma officially became a part of British India. And, on 1st April, 1937, Burma was separated from India, according to the Government of Burma Act, 1935. It became a separate colony, which was directly administered by the British Crown. And, in 4th January, 1948, Burma gained independence. In 1989, the military government renamed Burma as Mayanmar.
Dawki
It is a a small town in the district of West Jaintia Hills, Meghalaya, India. It bears the border-line between India & Bangladesh (Tamabil, Sylhet). It is one of the vital trade routs between India & Bangladesh.
Umngot River (also known as Dawki River), flows through this town and it is famous for it’s crystal clear water and surrounding natural beauty.
Dawki Bridge, on Umngot River, is a suspension bridge, which was contructed by the British in 1932.
Tamabil
It is a hilly region in Sylhet, on the border-line of Bangladesh & India. It stands on Sylhet-Shillong Road and famous for the Bangladesh Last House, which is located on India-Bangladesh Border.
